Biography:
Otis Prescott-Mason is one of New Zealand’s leading young pianists. He currently studies in Wellington under Dr. Jian Liu and, in the United States, under Professor Boris Berman.
In 2025 Otis was awarded 3rd prize at the National Concerto Competition in Christchurch, performing Prokofiev’s 3rd concerto with the Christchurch Symphony. In 2022 he was awarded 1st prize, Best Performance of a Classical Sonata, and the Audience Choice Award at the Lewis Eady National Piano Competition. In the same year he was awarded 1st prize at the PACANZ National Piano Competition. Otis was also awarded 1st prize at the 2020 New Zealand Junior Piano Competition.
Now finished with undergraduate studies at the New Zealand School of Music in Wellington, Otis plans to pursue graduate study abroad in the near future.
