Wellington City Chorus – Women’s Barbershop

Wellington City Chorus is a chapter of SingUnited International (formally Sweet Adelines) and was formed in 1998. This local chorus of dedicated and talented singers is a non-profit organisation dedicated to teaching, learning and singing four-part barbershop style harmony through performances and education opportunities.
Wellington City Chorus is led by co-directors David Brooks and Jo Hodgson. David is a master-director with over 30 years of experience as a singer, director, adjudicator, coach and arranger of barbershop music; Jo, a singing teacher and performer from the musical theatre and choral worlds, is a recent convert to this fun and challenging style.
As previous National champions, Wellington City Chorus has represented Aotearoa New Zealand on the international stage several times and looks forward to sharing a taste of Aotearoa in Australia next year.
We meet on Monday evenings, 7:00pm – 9:30pm at Wellington Bridge Club, 17 Tinakori Rd. We welcome women and non-binary singers who enjoy singing and are keen to learn, grow and perform in a supportive and welcoming environment.
