E-NEWS 12TH SEPTEMBER 2025
Weather & Weekend Gathering

We’ve been very lucky these past two days – although rain was forecast, the skies have held clear.
Tomorrow, those of you on the Kāpiti Coast, I look forward to catching up with you over lunch at Gillian and Russell Feist’s home at 12pm. Please bring some food to share.

🎶 Farewell to Germain

Next week will be Germain’s last week in the office. She and her partner are moving to London to pursue their musical endeavours. We send them off with our very best wishes for this exciting new chapter.

🙏 Sunday Worship & Meetings

  • This Sunday’s Service: Led by the Worship Committee on the Season of Creation theme “Peace with Creation.”
  • Afterwards: A Special General Meeting will be held straight after church.

Looking ahead:

  • 🐾 Next Sunday: Our Animal Blessing Service, following the joy of last year’s inaugural service. Bring along your furry family members – Snoopy will be especially glad for the company!

📸 October Communion & Church Photo

On the first Sunday of October (Communion and Shared Lunch Sunday), we will be taking a church group photo after the service on the stage area.

This is open to everyone – members, whānau, associates, visitors. If you are present, you are warmly invited to join. The photo will feature in our 2025 AGM report and be a treasured record for our community.

General Assembly 2025

This year General Assembly will be held in Christchurch from 20-23 October at St. Paul’s Trinity Pacific.  Ellen Murray and I will be attending on behalf of SAOTT and Ross Scott hopes to attend on behalf of Chaplaincy.  These Assemblies are never an easy time for Progressive Inclusive Churches and we often come away feeling quite battered.  Here’s hoping our presence will have a positive impact and effect on our church.  By the way if you haven’t heard, I was not successful in our nomination for Moderator Designate.

🚗 Minister’s Carpark Update

From this Sunday, you will notice a small change: I will now be parking in the first carpark next to the church side entrance (number 5).

Why? Bigger cars parking close on both sides have sometimes made it impossible for me to get in or out of my car. More than once, Jemma from the office has had to squeeze in to rescue me! Moving to the first space allows me to park forward with room to come and go freely – and avoids any future parking dramas.

🎄 Christmas Countdown

Can you believe it? Christmas is now only 104 days away. Time to start thinking about your plans for the festive season!

✦ Wishing you all a peaceful weekend and looking forward to seeing many of you at worship and gatherings in the coming days.
