SUMMARY:The Glamaphones celebrate Matariki
DESCRIPTION:Join the Glamaphones in our celebration of Matariki. We welcome you for an evening of song on Saturday 1st July\, 7pm at St Andrew’s on The Terrace\, as we look up at the heavens to reflect on the past and dream of the future. This is a time for our community to gather and to share. \nOur Matariki programme has been brilliantly curated by our musical director\, Rachel Hyde. It brings together songs from around the world that share the universal human curiosity of the stars and their meaning – how they shape our lives and guide us. \nAt the centre of this programme is the premiere of our new commission for the occasion: Our Youngest Star – composed by the talented Takerei Komene with text by Stacey Teague. It is an ode to Hiwa-i-te-Rangi\, the Carrier of Wishes. This was made possible with support from the Creative Communities Scheme. \nThis may be our most diverse programme yet\, drawing from a wide range of musical traditions and cultures\, from waiata to classics of musical theatre. \nOur focus is on sharing our music and building our community. Please be our guests for a light supper afterwards. \nThe Glamaphones rehearses weekly at 6.30pm on Thursdays\, at St Andrew’s on the Terrace. We do not audition and we welcome all to sing with us\, as a rainbow community group. If you are keen to try\, check out our website\, talk to one of our members or email us: contact@glamaphones.org.nz \nAdmission: $15\, $10 unwaged\, under 14s free. Door sales will be available.

SUMMARY:Sunday Concerts 2023: Armstrong Hambleton Liu — French Horn Trio
DESCRIPTION:Wellington Chamber Music presents chamber music concerts in its Sunday Concerts series on selected Sunday afternoons at 3 pm at St Andrew’s on the Terrace. \nArmstrong Hambleton Liu — French Horn Trio 16 July \nA treat for French horn lovers. SUMMARY:REFLECTIONS: A farewell concert featuring the music of MARK STAMPER
DESCRIPTION:This concert is featuring the piano music of our former Music Coordinator\, Mark Stamper. He will share some of his story and the music which he loved playing while developing into the artist he has become. In addition to his music\, Inspirare will be joining him for 4 selections. This will be the first concert they have sung since May 2021 when they performed a concert of British anthem repertoire featuring the newly refurbished organ at our church. \nThe concert is free (koha entry) and is an opportunity for Mark and Inspirare to celebrate music\, give back to the community\, and to share their gifts with Wellington.
