DESCRIPTION:Henry Meng is a pianist and composer studying at the University of Auckland. His piano tutors include Rae de Lisle and Stephen de Pledge. He has performed with the Auckland Philharmonia and Christchurch Symphony Orchestra. With the CSO\, he won second prize in the 2023 National Concerto Competition. As a composer\, he has had the great joy of hearing his works played by the Auckland Philharmonia and the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. In 2023\, Henry won the NZSO’s TODD Young Composer’s Award with a composition featured in the NZSO’s 2024 concert season. \n– Joseph Haydn: Piano sonata in B minor\, Hob. DESCRIPTION:Singer Roger Wilson and pianist Guy Donaldson\, who have performed together on and off since 1976\, present a concert in which the two septuagenarian performers celebrate “mature” years in song. The programme finds thematic riches in Schubert lieder and in Brahms.  It enjoys the whimsy of Rossini’s Sins of His Old Age\, tilts at windmills in Ravel’s Don Quixote songs\, draws from village life in songs by Poulenc and comes home to New Zealand in the iconic Douglas Lilburn Song Cycle Sings Harry where an old man looks back over his life.
