SUMMARY:Lunchtime Concert: Martin Griffiths (cello)\, Celia Griffiths (violin) and Kathryn Mosley (piano) – A Katherine Mansfield Anniversary Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Join us for this very special concert with Martin Griffiths (cello)\, Celia Griffiths (violin) and Kathryn Mosley (piano) – A Katherine Mansfield Anniversary Celebration. The concert features music by Arnold Trowell\, a close friend of Katherine Mansfield\, and includes his Sonata in F\, Op. 30\, for cello and piano. The cello\, which Mansfield first learned in Wellington\, was her favourite instrument. \nWith the one hundredth anniversary of Mansfield’s death last year\, there has been a sustained interest in her contribution to literature\, which includes several uniquely musical short stories. A cyclic\, single-movement trio in “chapters” – Ancient Irish Folk Songs – is a musically analogous example of Mansfield’s writing style and concludes this programme.

SUMMARY:Lunchtime Concert: Amiki Trio
DESCRIPTION:Amiki Trio is a new classical music trio formed by Barbara Paterson\, Karen Batten and Rachel Thomson. All three are Wellington based freelancers\, the idea for the group stemming from a school corridor conversation as the three itinerant teachers crossed paths. Each performer has a busy career with a wide experience of chamber music between them. Together they offer an enchanting\, sophisticated programme which focuses on the essence of chamber music: communication and connection with the audience.  They will be performing “Tales of Love and Enchantment” and music by Debussy\, Ravel\, Schubert\, Mouquet and Corigliano.
