DESCRIPTION:Founded in 2004\, this well-known\, versatile Wellington-based quartet is known for its passionate musicality\, impressive technique\,and multicultural innovation. \nHaihong Liu (violin) and Zhongxian Jin (viola) are original members of the Aroha Quartet. Robert Ibell (cello) joined the group in 2009 and Anne Loser (violin) in 2021.The NZSO’s principal Bass Clarinet\,\nRachel Vernon joins them for the three clarinet quintets in the programme. \nWolfgang Mozart – Clarinet Quintet in A K581\nAstor Piazzolla – Oblivion for Clarinet and String Quartet\nJohannes Brahms – Clarinet Quintet in B minor Op 115 \npresented in association with Chamber Music NZ\nbookings for the series and for individual concerts.
