It’s good that we have got to Level 2 – but we look forward to getting to Level 1.  Life isn’t easy for many people at the moment – but remember the restrictions are for our safety – not a punishment.  We need to be as careful as possible in what we do to keep ourselves and our families and communities safe. Keeping to the rules is one way. Vaccination is another. If you haven’t already been vaccinated then I encourage you to do so.  It is a way of caring for others.

We have decided to continue with Zoom Services in the meantime.  If we moved back to services in the church we would be restricted to 50 people.  We don’t want to be in the position of having to turn people away!  As well as that we would have to observe social distancing and wear masks.  Obviously people are appreciating Zoom services by the numbers zooming in.  It’s a good way to see people and keep our links with one another.  We will review things each week and let you know what is happening.

On Sunday mornings the people taking the service “zoom in” before 10am to sort out final details.  We  encourage you to zoom in at 10 and we have allowed time for you to wave to others and share greetings. At 10-12am Sue will mute everyone and the musician with play a short prelude.  The service starts at 10-15am. At the end there is time for you to continue to greet one another but you will have to unmute yourself!  You will also have to supply your own coffee !!!

It has been great seeing so many people zoom in.  It is a way of reminding ourselves that we are part of something much bigger than our isolated “bubbles” – and seeing someone there whom we haven’t seen for a while might prompt us to ring them!

This Sunday Sandra and Tony Kirby are leading our worship for the Second Sunday in the Season of Creation.  We look forward to what they have in store for us and are grateful to them, and Andrew and Wendy from last week, for the time and effort they put into their preparation,  Thanks also to Peter our organist for his time over the last three Sunday.  We are giving him a break this Sunday and Bruce Corkill will be our musician.

I look forward to seeing you “on screen” on Sunday.  In the meantime takes care of yourselves and those around you.

Shalom

Jim
